Pop star Mel B, 49, rose to fame alongside Geri Halliwell, Melanie C, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham in the late 1990s as part of the Spice Girls, the world’s best-selling girl group. And although the group broke up a long time ago, the girls maintain good relations and constantly correspond with each other.
However, Mel B recently claimed that she was kicked out of their shared WhatsApp chat.
Speaking on an episode of Sky Max’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks, when asked why she was kicked out of the group, she explained: “Because I’m a Northerner and I say what I think and feel and I tell the girls all the time, which is that I have to to get back together to tour. Because they keep pulling and don’t want it, I also told them that they are idiots.”
The Spice Girls were formed through an open audition in 1994. and were originally known as Touch before going through several line-up changes, choosing a different name and breaking away from their original management, the Independent recalls.
They achieved a record run of six consecutive number one singles and two number one albums before Gerry Halwell’s shock departure in 1998, releasing their last record in 2000, but reuniting in 2007. for a world tour.
In 2012 All five members performed a set of hits at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics and were briefly seen together again at the opening of their West End musical Viva Forever, but Beckham decided not to return for the group’s final performance in 2019 .
Earlier this year, the girls reunited at Beckham’s 50th birthday party, where they performed a rendition of their 1998 hit ‘Stop’, but the fashion designer explained at the time that she would not want to get back together with his band mates for nothing but such partying and partying amongst themselves.
She told Radio France: “I’m really proud of what I did with the Spice Girls, but today I want to help people assert themselves through fashion and beauty. There were rumors. People said there would be tours or concerts, but that’s not going to happen.”
