Meizu 21 Pro: Flagship Smartphone with AI Features and Meizu’s Transition to AI Technologies

As expected, Meizu introduced the new flagship smartphone 21 Pro. The design and top-end hardware familiar from previous models have been diluted with a whole scattering of AI functions.

The device is also notable for the fact that it is the latest model of the once popular brand, since earlier this month it was announced that it would cease production of traditional smartphones. Instead, Meizu will go completely AI.

Specifications of Meizu 21 Pro:

  • Display: 6.8 inches, LTPO OLED, 2K, frame rate 120 Hz, brightness 1260 nits, PWM 2160 Hz;
  • Processor/Memory: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with 12/16 GB RAM and up to 1 TB storage.
  • Battery: 5500 mAh, there is 80 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging.
  • Cameras: main (50 MP, OmniVision OV50H), wide-angle (13 MP with a viewing angle of 122 degrees), telephoto (10 MP with 3 optical and 30 digital zoom), front (32 MP).

But the most important thing is the new Meizu Flyme 10.5 shell. which received many AI features, including the function of finishing finished images and the ability to remove objects from photos. The smartphone is positioned as the “Raspberry Pi of the era of artificial intelligence,” that is, an open platform for AI developers.

The cost of the basic version of Meizu 21 Pro was $700 (~26,500 UAH). A model with 16 GB of RAM was priced at $750 (~28,500 UAH). The 16 GB/1 TB version can be purchased for $820 (~31,200 UAH). Sales of the smartphone will start on March 2.

Instead of traditional smartphones, Meizu will now release devices based on AI technologies. And the first such gadget will be released this year. “AI devices” include the Humane AI Pin smart mini-projector and the Rabbit R1 mini-smartphone. You should expect something similar from the cult brand.

At the same time, we can expect flexible smartphones to appear on the market in the coming years. Among them are “bracelet phones” that can be worn on the wrist like a watch. Concepts of such devices were shown by Samsung and Motorola.
