The Republican candidate for the US Senate, Prof. DR. Mehmet Öz, won the primary with more than 31 percent of the vote.
Prof. DR. Mehmet Öz said on Twitter: “I received a kind call from David McCormick and I am extremely grateful for his promise of support in the autumn elections. We share the goal of a better future for Pennsylvania and America. Now that our primary is over, the seat of the US Senate is John John’s. We will ensure that it does not fall into the hands of the radical left led by Fetterman.
Mehmet Öz’s opponent, Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick, announced his resignation from the election and congratulated Öz on his victory.
McCormick said Oz will do his part to try to unite Republicans and Pennsylvanians.
Oz, who received more than 31 percent of the vote, will face Pennsylvania Deputy Governor John Fetterman in November.
