Simple: “Because Meghan is a control freak.” In short, the princess’s mistake becomes the starting point for a new distant clash between the Windsor brothers and their respective wives, with American and British newspapers lined up in support of one or the other.

Without taking into account the fact that the Dukes did not speak out against the princess. The image Levin is referring to is the one taken by London photographer Misan Harriman, their friend, in 2021, to announce Meghan’s second pregnancy. He himself had told how he had edited the black and white photo, speaking on the Private Passions podcast on BBC Radio 3: “It’s incredible what you can do with technology”, he said, explaining that the photo had been taken remotely since it was in the middle of the pandemic. The shot showed the couple sitting on the ground near the Christmas tree while Archie, who was just over six months old at the time, was portrayed in extreme close-up as he leaned towards the camera with a curious expression. Some immediately noticed that something about that photo wasn’t right, because Meghan’s face was in perfect focus, even though she was in the back of the photo. Especially since Harry’s face, on the other hand, was rather blurry. The idea of ​​the couple’s detractors was that the shot had been edited to highlight the duchess.
The photo had not been released through official channels, but first appeared on an unverified X account called The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust. A friend of Meghan’s, Janina Gavankar, had come forward, saying that she had taken the photo and posting the original on her Instagram account: “I’m so proud to have taken the Christmas photo for one of my best friends and for his family”.

William and Kate, therefore, should do the same thing: shut down any speculation regarding this story sharing the original photo, or the shot taken by the prince with his Canon without any modification.
