Meghan Markle's birthday, ignored by the Queen, is "noteworthy", according to an expert

The Queen has chosen to ignore Meghan Markle’s birthday this year by not sending her public well wishes on social media.

Meghan celebrated her 41st birthday last Thursday. It is said that she spent the anniversary privately with her family. The celebration took place at home in California with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children, Archie and Lilibeth.

Since 2018, when she married Harry, the royal family’s Twitter account always greeted her on her birthday, including last year, when Meghan celebrated her fortieth birthday.

But this year, the Queen’s Twitter account did not even mention Meghan’s birthday. The only news published on Thursday was about Princess Anne’s visit to Edinburgh.

There was also no mention of Meghan’s birthday on the royal family’s official Instagram account.

Richard Palmer, the correspondent of the royal house of the “Daily Express” edition, called the ignorance that happened as “considerable”, but also added that it could be related to the newly adopted rules.
