Circular and blue. This is the patch that Meghan Markle has worn on more than one occasion. She wears it on the inside of one of her wrists and it has not gone unnoticed by the British media or by the curious. What is it for? Many have asked.
The news broke after the Daily Mail published an article in which Prince Harry’s wife can be seen with the sticker on her left arm. “How does the $4 anti-stress patch that Meghan Markle wears work?” they headline.
As the aforementioned media explains, it is a biosignal patch from the ‘NuCalm’ brand, a dressing that according to its manufacturers “offers a feeling of tranquility” to everyone who uses it. This is a brand developed by Dr. Blake Holloway that combines neuroscience and biochemistry to help patients with post-traumatic stress disorder. In addition, they are sold in the United States in packages of 20 units, according to Daily Mail, for a price of $80.
This ‘disc’, which is for single use, relaxes the wearer. It supposedly acts as a kind of ‘tuning fork’, using resonance and frequencies to send signals to the vagus nerve and hypothalamus (both manage mood), deactivate the adrenaline response and activate the production of the GABAergic system (responsible for relax the nervous system), encouraging brain waves and relaxing the body. Ultimately, its goal is to help the wearer relax.
