Many things have been revealed since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle through the documentary Harry & Meghan. One of the things discussed was the baby shower that was held in 2019 before Archie was born.
For the first time, Meghan Markle has revealed photos of the excitement of a baby shower attended by her closest friends. The event was held in a New York hotel and was said to have spent USD$500,000 or roughly Rp. 7 billion.
For the special occasion, Meghan Markle wore a blue polka dot dress. In the shared photos, she looks very happy.
Even so, Meghan Markle’s lavish baby shower received flak from the palace. One of Princess Diana’s private secretaries said what she was doing didn’t show the side of nobility.
“This is a clear sign. Meghan thinks being a duchess is about stardom, not about being a king,” said Patrik Jephson.
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward called the baby shower “trash.” In addition, the event was attended by Hollywood stars and took place in a luxurious venue.
But through the documentary Harry & Meghan, Megan Markle he denied that the cost of the baby shower was borne by him. He explained that all costs were borne by his friends who hosted the event.
“My friends surprised me with a beautiful baby shower in New York. They said to me: ‘We will shower him with love. We will make the baby happy. We will make it together,'” said Meghan Markle.
“These strong, successful, independent women choose to use their own money. Not with tax money. They spend money throwing parties for their friends. Why would you want to ruin this beautiful moment?” she concluded.
Regarding all the allegations Harry and Meghan in their documentary, the palace has chosen to remain silent.
