Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘very lucky’ with Netflix deal | royal

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed their deals with the streaming giants after Megxit saw them stepping down from royal duties in 2020. But Mr Hilton claimed Harry and Meghan would find it “almost impossible” to get “ huge salaries” from Netflix and Spotify today.

The American blogger said that Netflix in particular “isn’t handing out huge salaries anymore because they’re so successful.”

Hilton told Los Angeles royal commentator Kinsey Schofield at D4 Daily Podcast: “I think they were very lucky with the timing because if Harry and Meghan were trying to get a deal like that today.

“I think it would be almost impossible for them.

“Both managed to get huge salaries from Netflix and Spotify at a time when those two brands were earning huge salaries.

“As we’ve seen this year, Netflix and Spotify are going through a lot of changes and Netflix in particular is no longer handing out huge paychecks because they’re so successful.

“They have this show coming out on Netflix which is going to be a great test. »

Netflix lost 200,000 users in the first three months of 2022, and it fell short of expectations to add 2.5 million subscribers.

Hilton’s comments come as Meghan and Harry are reportedly filming an ‘At Home’ documentary series as part of a lucrative deal.

A Hollywood source previously told Page Six that Netflix was “getting its pound of meat” from the couple with the series.

It comes after it emerged in May that Megan’s cartoon show Pearl had been axed by the streaming giant.

Archewell Productions is set to focus on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl inspired by influential women in history.

Netflix insisted that Archewell Productions remains a valued partner and that they continue to work together on a number of projects, including the documentary series Heart Of Invictus.

Meanwhile, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Megan’s first set of podcasts for Spotify.

Prototypes, which will focus on female stereotypes, are expected to be released later this year.

Harry and Meghan live in California after stepping down from the royal family in March 2020.

The couple have set up a home in the celebrity neighborhood of Montecito and are seeking a new life of personal and financial freedom.
