It’s been in the headlines for several weeks now: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are in Colombia for an official visit. Since the announcement of this trip, the royal couple has been at the center of all discussions. Why? Because the choice of their destination is controversial, particularly because of the security alert in the country launched by the British government to its nationals. Despite everything, the actress and her husband still decided to make the trip to continue promoting their commitments with the Archewell Foundation. And during one of their first visits, the parents gave a nod to one of their children, Archie.
A very touching visit
On August 16, Meghan Markle and Prince William traveled to Santa Fe where they had the chance to visit the school called Colegio La Giraldaon. The trip was intended to shed light on the importance of emotional and social well-being in education. Thus, the couple, accompanied by the director Serafin Ordoinez, discovered the initiatives put in place for the students.
But that’s not all, he also had the opportunity to sit down with the children to exchange a few words, in Spanish. A touching moment during which Harry asked the students their first names and ages. Following the answer, Meghan Markle launched: “You are the same age as my son Archie!”
Lovely gifts for Meghan and Harry
During their visit to the school, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also attended a performance that had been prepared by the students. The latter performed traditional Colombian songs with percussion. They also received gifts from the schoolchildren as well as handwritten letters from them. Enough to move Archie and Lilibeth’s parents.
Note that for the event, Francia Márquez, Vice President of Colombia, was also present. It was she who invited Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to come to her country. She had been very touched by the couple and their commitments after seeing their eponymous documentary on Netflix.
