We were treated to not one, but two royal outings on Tuesday night… Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a rare outing on the red (or rather blue) carpet at the Ripple of Hope Awards. The ceremony was held on December 6 in New York. Despite the downpour, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shone hand in hand in front of photographers.
It must be said that the former American actress had opted for an elegant Louis Vuitton evening dress. Again, the mother ofArchie (3 years) and Lilibet (1 year) opt for a cut that highlights her shoulders. She completed her outfit with a satin minaudière by Givenchy, a pair of pendant earrings and a pair of black pumps, also by Louis Vuitton.
One accessory particularly caught the eye: Meghan Markle pulled out the aquamarine cocktail ring inherited from her late mother-in-law Diana. A jewel that she had worn for the first time for her wedding reception with Harry at Windsor in 2018then on their Pacific tour.
Two real outings in the same night
Tuesday evening, the prince Harry et Megan Markle received the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award for their efforts against racism within the British royal family. “They went to the oldest institution in UK history and told them what they were doing wrong, that they couldn’t have structural racism within the establishment, that they couldn’t have a misunderstanding about mental health,” Kerry said Kennedy, president of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Organization.
“They knew if they did that there would be consequences, that they would be ostracized, they would lose their family, their position within that structure and people would blame them. They did it anyway because they believed they couldn’t live with themselves if they didn’t question that authority”. Which arouse tensions with the royal family, offended by the Sussexes’ departure from the monarchy almost three years ago.
Coincidentally (or not), Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in the spotlight just like the king Charles, Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace… Prince Harry and Meghan Markle don’t intend to stop there. On December 8, Netflix will air the first part of the documentary series dedicated to the Sussexes. A new project whose first excerpts have already caused a sensation.
