Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, allegedly reacted negatively to the fact that Prince William of Wales and Princess Kate Middleton, joining the royal family, are higher representatives of the royal house in the palace hierarchy, a source close to Meghan told The Telegraph.
This was said to have been especially noticeable at the Royal Foundation forum held in February 2018, where tension between the four was said to have been felt.
Meghan, who is married to Prince Harry, believed that “she had made her own career, Kate didn’t,” a source told the paper.
A source said: “Meghan felt she had more right to speak than her husband’s brother’s wife, who had married into the family as an unknown, but Meghan saw herself as a philanthropist who could teach the royal family this and that about charity.”
“I think she found it difficult to accept that the Royal Fund was already a well-oiled machine when she got there,” says the source.
It was also reported that Meghan received a “cool” reception from William and Kate when her relationship with Prince Harry became serious.
As Harry wrote in his book ‘Spare’, when he first introduced Meghan to her brother, Kate had stayed in the garden – and it was not the welcome they had hoped for.
