Meghan is being sued by her half-sister – now the Duke and Duchess must testify

The drama in the British royal house continues. Now a judge has decided that both Meghan and Harry must testify.

Published:

The background is that Samantha Markle has sued her half-sister for defamation after the controversial TV interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

The ruling means that Samantha’s lawyers will question the prince and duchess before July.

The sister claims her reputation has been ruined by “malicious lies” told by Meghan in the interview.

The half-sister further claims that Meghan “published and disseminated false and malicious statements” about her in the 2020 book, Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Royal Family.

EXCLUSIVE: In 2018, half-sister Samantha Markle spoke out about not being invited to the wedding. In the lawsuit, she also denies Meghan’s claim that she changed her surname only after she got together with Prince Harry.

The half-sister believes that Meghan lied about being an only child, and about the last time they saw each other. Furthermore, Samantha claims that the allegations exposed her to “humiliation and hatred”.

Samantha seeks damages of NOK 750,000 and requests a trial by jury.

There has been a bad atmosphere between the sisters for a long time. In 2018, the half-sister claimed that she has not benefited from Markle’s fame, saying at the time:

– Let’s face it – we all have to survive. Money makes the world go round, so if you want to call it making money, that’s fine, but I don’t think anyone in the media would refuse a paycheck to talk about the royals and, as a family, we’re not subject to royal protocol. Why should I stop living because we have a family problem going on?

Thomas Markle, who is the father of both Meghan and Samantha, is also expected to testify in the case. So will Samantha’s daughter, Ashleigh Hale, and security expert Christopher Bouzy, who both starred in the recent Netflix documentary about Harry and Meghan, write New York Post.
