Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry closely followed by bodyguards on their visit to New York –
The whole world looked excitedly to New York a few days ago: There Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan met with Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Kathy Hochul. The Sussexes were allegedly protected by a team of bodyguards who otherwise work for Taylor Swift.

It was her first public appointment in the Big Apple. Prince Harry, 37, and Duchess Meghan, 40, met Mayor Bill de Blasio, 60, and Governor Kathy Hochul, 63, at the One World Observatory in New York on Thursday, September 23, 2021. They followed at every turn including several bodyguards who, according to the Daily Mail report, the Sussexes are said to have borrowed from none other than superstar Taylor Swift, 31.
Security team on loan from Taylor Swift
During their stay in the American city, the couple was driven and guarded by a security team, including a former New York police officer who is now the singer’s security chief. Another bodyguard who was seconded to the Royals this weekend is said to have gone by the name of Jimmy and has dealt with stalkers and burglars who broke into Taylor’s home in the past. Another man, around 40 years old, is said to have previously worked for Swift and accompanied her during her appearance at the VMAs in 2019.
It is not known whether the 31-year-old loaned her bodyguards to the Sussexes as a friendly gesture or whether they hired the men themselves through an agency. Their choice, however, shows how great their need for good protection evidently is.

Furthermore, the “Daily Mail” previously reported that the couple had also been accompanied by an employee of the United States Department of Homeland Security. He was also waiting for the couple in front of the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan, where a night costs around $ 1,300. The bodyguard told a reporter that he was from the DHS, but did not provide any further information on whether the government had assigned him to the Sussexes’ visit to New York. This honor is otherwise not even given to big stars.

In addition to a visit to the “9/11” memorial and the One World Trade Center, where numerous police officers from the New York Police Department gathered, they also took a trip to the UN Plaza, where the General Assembly meets. It is believed that Harry and Meghan met with US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield there. The NYPD refused to comment when asked by the Daily Mail whether the police were there to guard the memorial or to protect the couple.
