During the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s three-day visit to New York City last week, the couple met with world leaders and took part in the Global Citizen Live event to set up global equity in vaccines against covid.
However, Matt Fiddes, a former Michael Jackson personal bodyguard and celebrity fitness trainer, has revealed the extraordinarily high level of security Harry and Meghan received during their visit to New York.
Mr Fiddes told the Daily Star: ‘The level of security around Meghan and Harry in New York is way above what you would see with a megastar like the late Michael Jackson or anyone else I have protected at the highest showbiz level.
“What they had in New York is similar to presidential government protection like the Secret Service.”
Footage from the trip shows the couple surrounded by armed security members, which Mr Fiddes said was essential.
“Going to New York on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of September 11 is very dangerous for such a high-profile couple, especially with the current unrest in Afghanistan where Prince Harry once served,” he said.
Towards the end of their trip, Harry and Meghan appeared on stage to the cheers of crowds at the Global Citizens Festival in Central Park in an effort to raise awareness about vaccine fairness.
Addressing the inequity, Meghan said it was “wrong” that the vaccine supply only went to a few select countries.
She said: “This year the world is supposed to reach the goal of vaccinating 70% of the people in each country, but it is wrong that such a quantity of vaccines has so far only been distributed to ten. rich countries and not to all the others.

During their stay, Meghan and Harry left their children in California but have now returned to their Santa Barbara home and reunited with their children Archie and Lilibet.
Mr Fiddes said: “I have seen this many times in my career and even working with Michael Jackson we have had to leave the children behind us many times against his will due to threats against them for financial gain.
“There will always be more media interest in them than any current Royal because they have gone against the establishment and continue to do so.”
