Megawati again emphasized the importance of making improvements to prevent tidal flooding and improving port governance in Central Java.
He reminded the importance of central and regional coordination in disaster mitigation. According to him, regional heads cannot act alone.

The height of the tidal flood reached more than two meters and hit the area around the Tanjung Emas Port.
Responding to the tidal flood, Ganjar claimed that his party had made long-term handling efforts. However, said Ganjar, some work has not been completed.
“For the long term, we have been working on it for several years and it’s not finished yet,” wrote Ganjar via his personal twitter account (@ganjarpranowo), Tuesday (24/5).
In addition to long-term handling, Ganjar claimed that his party had taken short-term measures to suppress tidal flooding.
“We have done short-term measures by lowering sandbags and pumping water,” he said.
