The chairman of the PDI-P DPC South Tangerang (Tangsel), Wanto Sugito, did not accept the statement from the Head of the Strategic Communications Agency of the Democratic Party (PD) DPP, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, who said Megawati Soekarnoputri called overthrow Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) when he was president. PDIP demanded that the Democrats apologize for the statement of their cadres.
“As a cadre of Banteng, I am very offended by the statement of Brother Herzaky, the spokesman for the Democrats. Apart from being ridiculous, Herzaky did not understand the political system at that time where the MPR RI was the highest institution. The MPR consisted of the DPR RI and DPD RI. So if you want to make accusations, , it should be to Amien Rais, not to Mrs. Megawati,” said Wanto in his statement, Tuesday (5/10/2021).
Wanto said that if the Democrats did not immediately apologize and replace Herzaky, PDIP cadres would be ready to face the Democratic Party. Wanto then accused the Democratic Party of cheating because the Democratic Party’s vote in 2009 rose 300% due to the use of social assistance, manipulation of the DPT, the use of law enforcement officers, and others.
“As a result, many Democratic cadres are corrupt because all of them follow the behavior of their leaders who always prioritize image. I am ready to debate related to election fraud by Democrats,” said Wanto.
According to Wanto, PDIP cadres do not accept the name of the PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri dragged by Herzaky. Therefore, Wanto asks Herzaky to apologize.
“On this basis, I give time to Brother Herzaky to apologize. If not, then political karma will continue to hit the Democrats such as the disclosure of drug cases, congregational corruption that has plagued young cadres, in which many say the intervention of the favorite son of high-ranking officials. Democrats,” he said.
