Megane E-Tech: Renault’s newest electric car has a range of over 400 km

Renault Megane E-Tech is the latest electric model of the French manufacturer and one of the most avant-garde cars in terms of design.

The new Renault Megane electric has several versions in which it can be configured, with customers being able to choose from different battery packs, powers or charging capacities. The car we had on test is a version with a large, 60 kWh battery, a 218 hp electric motor on the front axle, and it comes with Optimum Charge capability, with a minimum charging power of 22 kWh. The car can be charged at a maximum of 130 kWh. The declared autonomy in the WLTP cycle is 450 km.

From a design point of view, the new Megane Electric is a futuristic car with a special design. The front part includes the new Renault logo and full LED headlights with thin daytime running lights, and in the lower part there are gold ornaments, being an Iconic equipment.

The Megane Electric can be ordered with 18- or 20-inch wheels, and the car we tested had the largest. Despite the fact that, at first glance, the car may give the impression that it is an SUV, it is one hatchback. The rear of the car retains the same futuristic design touch, with an LED strip running across the back and three-dimensional taillights. Behind the tailgate there is a trunk that measures 389 liters.

Renault Megane E-Tech – The electric Megane has an impressive interior

The interior of the car is dominated by the two screens which, unlike many other cars, have a slightly different location. The dashboard is arranged horizontally, but the infotainment system is mounted vertically, in portrait format. The car’s media system runs Android Automotive, the user experience being quite similar to that of a smartphone.

The materials are quite good and the interior design also integrates ambient lighting. This model is also equipped with the Harman Kardon audio system. The storage spaces are quite large and the center console offers good modularity, plus a wireless charging pad for phones. Renault has also freed up space in the center console by moving the transmission selector to the steering column, making it very handy.

The new Megane E-Tech has a starting price of 36,100 euros in Romania.
