Model and actress Megan Fox (37) had her big breakthrough when she got the role of Mikaela Banes in the action film “Transformers” in 2007.
Responding to the infidelity rumours
There is no hiding the fact that the actor quickly became a big favorite among both male and female viewers. In 2008, she was also named the world’s sexiest woman by the men’s magazine FHM.
But despite Fox’s looks, she admits that she is also insecure about her body.
She is one of the models for this year’s swimsuit issue Sports Illustratedand in a new interview with the magazine she says that she suffers from dysmorphophobia.
– I have dysmorphophobia. I never see myself the way others see it. There has never been a point in my life where I have loved my body. Never ever, shares the actor.
Surprising with a new look
Dysmorphophobia (DMF), or body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), is characterized by an excessive focus on an imagined or minimal defect in one’s own appearance to such an extent that it causes significant anxiety and discomfort, according to The pocket doctor.
Dissatisfaction with her body started at an early age for the 37-year-old and led to an obsession with having to look a specific way.
– I don’t know why I consciously looked at my body when I was so young. It was definitely not because of the environment. I grew up in a very religious environment where bodies were never acknowledged at all.
Fox herself does not dare to hope for too much for the future, and admits that she will most likely never reach the finish line.
– The journey to love myself will be endless, I think, she concludes.
