Now MegaFon customers will not be able to top up a phone number for free using a Sberbank card. Agency introduced commission. It will be 1.44% of each refueling.
The Commission will enter into force on 24 October. When restoring the balance through the Sberbank application, as well as by card at the terminals and bank branches and through the 900 number, additional money will be charged.
How not to pay the commission:
- Top up the balance from the Sber card through the application “Megaphone“;
- Top up your balance with cards from other banks;
- Top up your balance via MegaFon terminals.
Reasons of the commission
MegaFon’s press service stated that Sberbank has the highest commission for paying for mobile communications through its channels. It is almost 100 times higher than the fees of other banks.
Previously, MegaFon made up for this difference, but it has become meaningless in an environment where the cost of providing services is increasing. The operator approached Sberbank with a proposal to reduce the commission, but was turned down.
