Megacable, one of the largest telecommunications companies in Mexico and Latin America, obtained a quarterly net profit of 801 million pesos, a variation of just 0.6 percent compared to the 797 million for the January-March 2023 period.
However, its income increased by 11.6 percent, going from seven thousand 152 million pesos to seven thousand 984 million.
It also added 550 thousand new unique subscribers – the highest number for a quarter in the company’s history – to reach five million or 12.1 percent more than in the reference period.
The greatest growth in the number of subscribers was in the telephony segment with 677 thousand additions for a total of 4 million 255 thousand 172 or 18.9 percent.
The internet segment reached a total of four million 872 thousand 882 subscribers, a growth of 13.7 percent, which is equivalent to 588 thousand net additions compared to the first quarter of 2023.
The video category continued to rise and reached the figure of three million 928 thousand 939 subscribers, reflecting 167 thousand net additions or an increase of 4.4 percent in contrast to the same period in 2023.
Megacable has a presence in the 32 states of the country and in more than 550 locations; offers its services through a network of more than 95.6 thousand kilometers, covering nearly 16 million homes. It has nearly 32 thousand collaborators.
