Just a month after a huge Mega Millions jackpot was won in New York, the jackpot was hit again. This time on the other side of the USA – in Arizona.
In the drawing on Friday evening, October 22nd, 2021, one ticket matched all six numbers drawn and won a jackpot of around 108 million US dollars (the equivalent of almost 93 million euros), announced the lottery organizer.
It is the second Mega Millions jackpot ever to be won in Arizona. The first grand prize in the popular US lottery was a whopping $ 414 million last summer.
Half a dozen Mega Millions pots already cracked
Six Mega Millions jackpots have been won so far this year, and they started off with a bang – a grand prize of $ 1.05 billion on January 22nd went to a group of Michigan players.
A group of Pennsylvania gamblers shared a jackpot of $ 516 million on May 21. An Illinois player took home a $ 55 million prize in the June 8 draw.
And in New York, two jackpots were won – $ 96 million on February 16 and most recently $ 431 million on September 21.
The jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 will reset to its current starting value of $ 20 million.
