Synnex and Tech Data announced the successful completion of their merger on Wednesday. The merged company is now called TD Synnex and is led by Tech-Data chief Rich Hume as CEO. Dennis Polk, former CEO of Synnex, is executive chairman of the board of directors. TD Synnex will have two main locations: Fremont, California and Clearwater, Florida: the US locations with the greatest concentration of employees. The company intends to maintain other key US locations including Fremont, California, where Synnex was previously headquartered. “We are pleased that the merger has been completed and are now concentrating on integrating our companies,” says Dennis Polk. As part of the merger, Hume underscored TD Synnex’s commitment to be a good company and the preferred employer in the global IT industry: «Just as TD Synnex plays an important role in transforming the technology landscape, we have an equally important responsibility to to have a positive impact on the world. The mega-merger in IT distribution was announced in March. The result is the world’s largest IT distributor with annual sales of $ 57 billion, 150,000 customers and 22,000 employees. The combined company is 55 percent owned by Synnex shareholders and 45 percent by Apollo Global Management, which acquired Tech Data for $ 5.4 billion in June 2020.
