For over ten years they have been attending the final concerts of Rowwen Hèze: John Marijt and his group of friends from Noordwijk. It is one of the highlights of the year for the group.

Also this weekend they will be present on both evenings in the tent at Peelheideweg in America.
Sleeping place
The men from Noordwijk spend the night at Lei Coppes in Grubbenvorst. “During our first meeting in the Randstad, we told Lei about our love for Rowwen Hèze. He then offered us a place to sleep during the final concerts,” says Marijt.
The group has been sleeping in Grubbenvorst for years now in the first weekend of November. Lei himself will be sleeping on the couch this weekend. “The whole hut is full of all men. They sleep everywhere”, he explains.
For love
In the 1990s, the people of Noordwijk developed a predilection for the American dialect band. Marijt: “My brother-in-law then let me hear a CD. We played it regularly in our beach pavilion in Noordwijk. At the end of the 1990s, the band played in our neighborhood. Then my brother-in-law and I went to have a look and we were immediately sold.”
Tasty treat
The group of friends from Noordwijk visit so often that a friendship has arisen with the band members. And Marijt brings them a tasty treat every year. “I always take care of herrings. I give them to them after the concert with a nice beer. Jack Poels is a complete enthusiast. He even eats three or four herrings.”
