MEF appoints Betty Sotelo Bazán as the new Vice Minister of Finance

Betty Sotelo is an Economist from the Federico Villareal National University and a graduate of the Master of Public Management from the Universidad del Pacífico.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance appointed Betty Sotelo Bazán as Vice Minister of Finance, according to Supreme Resolution No. 005-2024-EF published in Legal Standards of the official newspaper El Peruano.

The new vice minister will replace Rodolfo Baca Gómez Sánchez, who was thanked for the services provided.

Before this appointment, she had been serving as executive director of the National Fund for Financing State Business Activity (FONAFE) since June 2023.

He has more than 40 years of experience in public administration and has developed a large part of his professional career in the MEF. She was Deputy Minister of Finance three times (appointed in 2022, 2020 and 2018).

Likewise, she held other senior management positions in the MEF, she was General Secretary and Executive Secretary of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Economy. She is also general director of the General Office of Investments and Projects, general director of Debt and Public Treasury.

In 2015, he led the Special Project “Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund” that was carried out in Lima.
