The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, the new champion of the China Open after beating the Italian Jannik Sinner in a close final, underlined the importance of this type of match to attract new tennis fans.

“I thought: ‘Okay, I’ll try not to lose another tiebreaker,’ said Alcaraz, before managing to string together seven points in a row and win the final.
During the crash, an incident with his shoes caused him to lose rhythm momentarily, only to later “serve again in such a tense moment,” although he managed to regain the rhythm and dynamics that led him to victory.
