Samuel ALDEGHERI, athlete born in 2001, is from Verona, he entered baseball history by being the first Italian pitcher to debut in the MLB, which happened last August 30th during the match between the Los Angeles Angels and the Seattle Mariners.
The past of the young player from Verona is made up of training and sacrifices which led him to play at a very young age first in the Italian Serie A with Parma Clima, and then move to the USA where he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies franchise, of which he was part and went all the way from the “rookie-level” team of the Florida Complex League Phillies in 2021, then moved on to the Clearwater Trashers, until his excellent performances in 2023 pushed him up to the High-A level and saw him excel in MiLB with the Jersey Shore Blue Claws.
In July 2024, following player market movements, the Philadelphia team sold Aldighieri to the Los Angeles Angels, with whom a month later he debuted in the most important baseball club championship in the world.
