Only on NOVA – a meeting with 12-year-old Sashko from Pernik. Today the child was discharged from “Pirogov” and his first meeting was with our team. The boy was hospitalized after nine days of searching and rescuers found him in the mountains.
After nine days in limbo and nine days in the hospital, Sashko is returning home today. “I’m fine,” the boy shared. And when asked if he was happy to go home, he said, “Yes, yes.”
He’s still fragile, but physically he’s fine. “We are much better now. He walks more, he is in a good mood, he draws. His first drawing was something like fires, trees, bushes. He is reading books about the magical forest,” said the boy’s father.

Thousands of volunteers, police, divers, mountain rescuers tirelessly searched for the child for eight nights and nine days. Alexander Tsvetanov is infinitely grateful to all of them for not giving up and continuing to the end. “I myself had the belief that he was alive and we had to find him,” he explained.
When asked if Sashko was alone or sheltered, his father replied: “The investigation and the prosecutor’s office will find out. I have read these days of other children with a similar problem who have also passed. Sashko he’s a hero.”

The child was found in a hard to reach area. Dehydrated but in good condition. “For the first few days he was very hungry and very thirsty. Since the resuscitation he wanted water, he was dehydrated”, underlined the father.
The investigation into the case continues. Determine if there is interference in the disappearance of other people’s children. “I haven’t received any threats from anyone wanting anything from me. And no one called me about it. No ransom was demanded,” Alexander Tsvetanov stressed.
The most important thing is that Sashko is already here and doing well.
