Meeting of two Brazilians campaigning for the protection of the Amazon

L’Amazonia is in danger. Rich in abundant biodiversity, the Amazon is also an immense forest of 550 million hectares spread over several countries: Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Guyana and Suriname. According to the Express, compared to 2018, deforestation would have increased by 85% in 2019. We interviewed two Brazilians who both underline the urgency of protecting the Amazon.

“Humanity is in the process of grabbing the riches of the forest. The Amazon is no longer free as it was before being always more destroyed. In fact, deforestation tends to increase. To reduce this deforestation, the forces of all indigenous peoples must unite and these peoples can make ancestral prayers, songs and sacred medicine to counter the men who participate in deforestation. By carrying out this project, I wish to obtain a good financing for reforestation. Forest fires cause the disappearance of various Animals terrestrials, birds and vigorous trees. It is all very sad. The jaguar, the pig, the deer, the tapir, the turtle, the agouti, the paca, the armadillo, the boa, and in terms of trees, the samauma, as well as other sacred species die. For me, we must preserve the riches of the Amazon such as animals but also traditional medicine or trees. Brazil, Ecuador and Peru have a negative impact on deforestation and this is due to the destructive attitude of governments which wipe out the forest, animals and all natural resources. Indigenous people have legal rights: they too have their own language, their prayers, their riches, their customs and their lands. “

“Showing the exotic beauty and the infinite diversity of the Amazon is my mission. I intend to produce very rich content on this subject. The Amazon is a treasure that must always be taken care of. Preserving the natural resources of the forest for future generations is substantial and we have not yet reached an excellent level of preservation. Above all, we need new advances in environmental education. It takes awareness and more supervision. This deforestation will only decrease when inspection and environmental awareness increase. Stricter measures are needed for those who commit environmental crimes and for those who pollute the environment. My goal is to show the beauty and diversity that exist in the Amazon, to show how beautiful this forest is and how much we have to be careful that one day the beauty of this exotic place does not end. Undoubtedly the fires intensify in the summer period. Deforestation occurs due to the economic growth of agro-industry and livestock. As a result, waste is also present in some places. Water, in addition to trees, is also the source of life in the Amazon. We must therefore preserve our forests so that their resources do not become scarce. President Bolsonaro is especially concerned about the country’s economy and the advancement of agro-industry is important to him. Progress without impact is certainly impossible. In my opinion, previous governments were also engaged in deforestation, which was much worse. I heard that there were criminals near the Tabatinga barrier. This area must be dangerous because there must be criminal organizations that steal forest resources and sell animals illegally, among other things. They are speculating there. But the saddest thing is to imagine that this is not the only thing in Tabatinga. (…) “
