Meeting of the Executive Council of Sharjah discusses government work, investor support, and regulations in the maritime sector

Sharjah, 24 October / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, chaired this Tuesday morning the meeting of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah. Which was held in the office of His Highness the Ruler.

During its meeting, the Council discussed a number of topics on the agenda related to following up on government work, supporting investors in the emirate, and taking the necessary decisions to enhance joint work between government agencies in a way that reflects the development of services and achieving safety for society.

The Council congratulated Khaled Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Marine Sports Club, on the occasion of his winning membership in the Board of Directors of the International Marine Sports Federation, stressing the state’s position and role in the various sectors through its cadres winning memberships in the various continental federations, wishing him success in achieving the desired goals.

The Council reviewed the report on the economic situation of travel, tourism and air freight licensing activities and the new requirements that were amended, with the aim of creating an attractive environment for companies and organizing the process of issuing licenses and providing facilities to investors in the sector. The Council also reviewed statistics and comparisons regarding approvals for issuing licenses between the years 2019 – 2023, explaining The growth witnessed by the sector in the emirate and the demand by companies practicing the activities.

The Council also discussed legislation to regulate activities and sports in the maritime sector in terms of specializations and coordination with the competent authorities, with the aim of preserving marine life and reducing accidents.
