“As of today, Volodymyr Zelensky’s calendar does not include a visit to China. In the coming days, the president is scheduled to meet in Kiev: with Moravetsky, Johnson, Rutte, Erdogan,” Nikiforov said.
According to him, contacts with the leadership of Poland, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Turkey are necessary to consolidate international support around Ukraine.
“At the same time, we welcome that the Kremlin has finally begun to realize that there is no alternative to direct contacts and started talking about the possibility of a meeting of the presidents,” Nikiforov added.
Note that on Saturday, January 29, Putin’s spokesman said that he did not plan bilateral meetings in Beijing due to coronavirus restrictions.
“There are no plans to meet with Zelensky either. Although we cannot completely exclude this,” Dmitry Peskov added.
The Beijing Winter Olympics kick off on February 4th.
