  1. In response, Minister MOTEGI said that Japan would support the future ASEAN Special Envoy and clarified Japan’s positions regarding the latter’s actions. At the same time, he also indicated that Japan would continue its appeals to the Burmese military for the establishment of a dialogue and the release of those arrested. The two ministers agreed to continue their close collaboration on the Burmese issue.
