Meeting of Amiens (November 27-29). Return to competition for top-level swimmers from ASPTT Nancy and US Toul

Not easy to navigate among the protocols and rules that apply at the moment. In swimming, as elsewhere, members of the sports-study sections are authorized to train, but not to participate in competitions. They are rare, you will say. However, here is one on the horizon: the meeting of Amiens, exceptionally reserved for only swimmers appearing on the famous high level lists.

If Marie Pierron does not have this privilege, her comrade from ASPTT Nancy, the young Léonie Thibult (13 years old) is referenced. As are the three Toulois Sheynis Razzoume (14 years old), Tom Henrionnet (16 years old) and Hugo Alison (16 years old). The first three cities will finally have the opportunity to face the competition this weekend.

Training conditions

“Léonie (Thibult) is training alone at the moment, five times a week,” says her coach Raphaël Jacquot, “it depends on each person’s character. She doesn’t mind. She does not need others too much in training and seeks to surpass herself first. And then she has a trainer all to herself… ”

“When you have a project, you do not need the others to train you”, estimates Toulouse coach Matthieu Marteau, “Sheynis (Razzoume) finds himself alone with the two boys in training, but it is a brawler… The three swim an average of seven times a week and have never stopped swimming ”.

The Amiens meeting

“They train well, but they don’t really know why…”, sighs Matthieu Marteau, “at least this meeting offers some perspective. We prepared it. And even if we are already working for next year, we must try to make perfs every time we are in competition ”.

“Léonie (Thibult) hasn’t competed since February,” recalls Raphaël Jacquot, “but with what I see in training, I don’t worry too much. It is progressing and will be able to face a very strong opposition ”.
