Intimacy and sexuality in dementia. Needs don’t disappear as we get older. And these feelings also remain with people with dementia. Yet this is generally not given much attention in health care training.

To draw attention to this, Stichting Ouderennetwerk West-Friesland is organizing a meeting on 24 June from 1 to 5 pm in Hoorn about intimacy and sexuality in dementia.

Because little attention is paid to it in education, loneliness, depression and behavioral problems are lurking. To change this, several guests share their experiences. Noëlle Sant, expert elderly care at Vilans, talks about the research she is conducting for Vilans and Rutgers in care and nursing homes. Frans Hoogeveen, specialist in dementia care and author of the book ‘Intimacy and sexuality in dementia’, offers a number of practical advice.

There is an opportunity to ask questions during all sessions. The meeting will take place in the council chamber in the town hall of Hoorn at Nieuwe Steen 1.
