Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be in Penteli today (20/8) to preside over a meeting on the restoration of the fire-damaged areas of Attica.
The Ministry of Environment, Interior, Civil Protection, Finance, the Region of Attica and the mayors of Penteli, Chalandrio, Pallini, Vrilissi and all the other affected municipalities will participate in the echelon that will move to Penteli.
At the meeting, there will be a presentation of the burnt areas, the cleaned and unclean plots as well as the autopsies on burnt buildings, with the emphasis on compensation for those affected. According to information, whatever is announced will be accompanied by implementation schedules.
Meanwhile, yesterday (19/8) the first phase of the autopsies in the fire-affected areas of Northeast Attica was completed.
277 buildings were checked and it emerged that a total of 146 houses are classified as unfit for use and to be demolished (55 “red”) and temporarily unfit for use requiring repair work (91 “yellow”).
Emergency funding of 4.7 million euros to the 8 fire-affected municipalities
The Ministry of the Interior has proceeded with the immediate grant of the eight municipalities of Attica that were affected by the great fire of August 11.
In particular, for the restoration of damages to public infrastructures, the minister, Thodoris Livanios, in collaboration with the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Athanasios Petralia, the president of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece, Lazaros Kyrizoglou, and the mayors of the region of Northeast Attica, approved emergency funding totaling 4,700,000 euros.
