The Wall Street Journal said today, Saturday, that Saudi Arabia will host talks related to Ukraine involving Kiev, Western countries and major developing countries, including India and Brazil, in early August.
The newspaper added, quoting diplomats participating in the discussions, that the meeting, scheduled in the Saudi city of Jeddah on August 5 and 6, will include senior officials from about 30 countries.
On February 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Saudi Arabia for supporting peace and sovereignty in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian President at the time received the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, at the presidential residence in the capital, Kiev.

During the meeting, they discussed developments in the crisis in Ukraine, emphasizing the Kingdom’s support for everything that contributes to de-escalation, protection of civilians, serious pursuit of negotiated political solutions, and support for all international efforts. aimed at resolving the crisis politically.
On the ground, Ukrainian President Zelensky visited, today, Saturday, the Ukrainian forces near the eastern front line in Bakhmut.
Pictures published by Zelensky on “X” (formerly Twitter) showed him meeting with the forces and inspecting a map in a room with concrete walls without windows and with dim lighting.
He praised the Ukrainian special operations forces. “It’s truly heroic that you guys are doing missions for Ukraine,” he wrote.
