One hundred and fifty former students of the convent, sometimes with their spouses, met on Thursday August 8 from 11:30 am, in the courtyard of the Jeanne-d’Arc school, for an aperitif with as much pleasure as nostalgia, at the initiative of three volunteers please, Nicole Lyon-Gaillard, Marie Claude Aurand and Christiane Aurand, who have launched this reunion proposal since last fall.
There were many class pictures plastered on the court gates, some dating back a long time. They were an opportunity for ideas, thoughts, shocks and lively discussions by finding a special face, a special teacher, a nun with her cornet, an educational trip or even a linguistic trip.
After this warm and cheerful scene, the former students went towards the chapel and its big staircase to remember this unforgettable moment.
At mealtime, everyone took their place in the three restaurants to taste local products from Langonese traders.
These restaurants will be decommissioned from the beginning of the school year as the students will eat at the beginning of September in the new 300-seat cafeteria, built by Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul . A lot of nostalgia and emotions affected the former students when they then went to the chapel for their tour, where so many hours and ceremonies interrupted their days, happy to share those moments and those memories. A visit to the primary school was offered, followed by a mass announced by Father Michel Val at the Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul church, to close this beautiful day of reunion between former students of the convent, some coming from very far away.
