Ajman, September 26 / WAM / Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, received Her Excellency Maryam bint Mohammed Al Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the State, to discuss many files related to promoting sustainability and comprehensive development.
At the beginning of the visit, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid welcomed Her Excellency the Minister and the visiting delegation, praising the specific projects, strategies and ambitious plans implemented by the Ministry to enhance efforts to confront climate change, preserve and sustain the environment, and support national food security, in addition to the Ministry’s efforts in the country’s preparations to host the COP28 Conference of the Parties in November. He praised the ongoing work to preserve the environment, sustain natural resources, and preserve them for future generations, indicating that all departments, institutions, and entities are intensifying their efforts and integrating their tasks to achieve the state’s vision aimed at creating a sustainable future for all.
For her part, Her Excellency Maryam Al Muhairi praised the existing cooperation and mutual coordination between all departments in the vital field, appreciating the qualitative initiatives implemented by the Emirate of Ajman under wise leadership whose efforts are in harmony with the visions and goals of the state in the field of development.
Her Excellency said that the UAE is making exceptional efforts to create a sustainable future for future generations, and is actively contributing to global efforts in this field by fulfilling its climate and environmental obligations and disseminating sustainability solutions throughout the world through pioneering projects. During the COP28 Conference of the Parties this year, we look forward to Mobilizing the world and moving from the stage of pledges to action on the ground through projects and initiatives aimed at protecting the planet.”
Her Excellency added, “Through the cooperation of all concerned authorities in the country, we aspire to organize an exceptional edition of the Conference of the Parties in a manner commensurate with the UAE’s global standing in this field.”
