Meet the 24 Preselected Contestants for Combate on RTS: Who Will Join the Orange and Blue Teams?

There are less than two weeks until the long-awaited premiere of Combate. The sports competition reality show will return to RTS screens this Monday, April 15, and meanwhile the production of the program is preparing its final details. Faithful followers of the show want to know: who will be chosen as the combatants of the remembered orange and blue teams?

For now, the organization of the contest has preselected 24 applicants who wish to be in the 12 positions available to appear on television. These shortlists were chosen after an arduous day of casting and physical tests.

In the first selection phase (which was virtual) 5,000 applicants sent their video material, of which 400 were called for in-person castings in Guayaquil, Quito and Portoviejo. In this second phase of the process, 60 men and women were summoned to undergo physical tests in the pool, resistance, speed and strength, for more than 8 hours. Finally, 24 candidates were preselected from those competitive days. On the day of the show’s premiere, the twelve official competitors will be announced.

For now, these are the 24 preselected for Combat:

Simone Alomoto

Quito athlete, 24 years old. She applied with a video communicating in sign language, explaining that she did it to include all of society. She is a national champion in power and power lifting. Her mother encouraged her to compete, because her dream is to see her on television.

Andres Herrera

19 year old Guayaquil native. Actor, model and entertainer. “I would love to enter the program, because competition is my life. I like all sports since I was very little,” he said at his audition.

Tiffany Toala

“I would love to be part of the Combate family,” says the young woman who attracts attention with her lush hair. Despite her big smile, at her audition she said that she had gone through a transition process for two years, while she had depression. “I like doing sports, I spend three hours in the gym, it’s my therapy.”

Francisco Arevalo

From Santa Rosa de El Oro. “I love being in front of the cameras,” says the young man who considers himself lively and outgoing. In addition, he has prepared physically for a long time, as soon as he graduated from school he wanted to enter the Navy, he told him at his audition.

Inoha Cuesta

“I’m ready to show what I’m made of for Combat. I dedicate my free time to fitness and going to the gym. I want to make the Ecuadorian public fall in love with her,” the young woman said in her audition.

Aaron Navia

He considers himself a competitive person, who loves the sport of parkour and freerunning. “I would like to have a parkour gym so that children can learn about that sport,” he said at his audition.

Chenoa Moya

“I really like going to the gym, there I get all my energy, I dance to whatever life touches me,” the young woman expressed in her audition. “I can act and dance. My contribution is how authentic I can be.”

Julian Pino

He is a 22-year-old actor. He is a singer and athlete. In addition, he said, he was a member of Guayas since he was 11 years old. “I feel like it’s something personal (being in Combat), when he was in school he wanted to be in the program, but he couldn’t because he was a minor.”

Rossina Giuliano

19 year old beauty queen. She would like to enter Combate because she dreams of entering television. “When you want something you have to do everything to get it.”

Jose Carlos Garcia

From Monterrey, Santo Domingo. “When I dedicated myself to the artistic world I had no support. From the age of 17 I had to leave Monterrey. My parents wanted to make me a house, because that’s life in my town. I want to break that pattern.”

Denise Piña

“I am a girl who likes to fulfill her dreams, her goals. I want to help my mom, we sell buns in Salinas. I am versatile, if I set out to be the best on the program, I will be,” she said in her audition.

Farley Espinoza

22 years old from Guayaquil. He wanted to be a soccer player, but he realized that his true heart is on digital platforms and television. “I am brave and I like to win.”

Claudia Suarez

I am 21 years old. “Combat is my childhood. “I’m going to thank my mom for the rest of my life, because she got me into sports since I was 5 years old.”

Gerardo Merino

He is 25 years old and is an active mixed martial arts fighter. “I leave my essence in the places I go,” said the applicant who lives with his mother who has a disability; His father passed away last year.

Waleska Chang

I love smiling at the camera, I have many goals and dreams to fulfill, I want you to see an inspiring image,” he said in his audition.

Maikol Plaguno

“I want to be in Combate, because it is an opportunity that I have been waiting for for a long time,” said this young man from Ventanas, Los Ríos, in his audition.

Paula Veliz

“I have prepared a lot and I would like to get rid of that bias that pretty girls are flabby,” she commented at her audition.

Luis Salvatierra

He is 25 years old and is from Babahoyo. I want to work in television. He studies Communication and is an athlete, he has been climbing for 7 years.

Lissette Montalván

“I have always tried to do new things, that’s how I started in dance,” the applicant shared in her audition.

Rafael Valdez

“I like physical exercise, I like going to the gym. I am a competitor and national champion. I will do my best for you,” the young man promised at his audition.

Try Mora

She is 19 years old and was the fifth finalist of Miss Ecuador 2023 and Miss teen Americas Ecuador. “I am competitive although I am serious, I go for what I want. “I like working as a team,” she explained at her audition.

Pedro Fernandez

I am a soccer goalkeeper and I see all my teammates from the goal. I am very happy and outgoing… I want Ecuador to know me.

Diana Chiriboga

She introduces herself as Diana Sofía, which is her stage name as an Ecuadorian singer-songwriter. She likes sports and physical activity.

Ian Cardenas

Ecuadorian singer and member of the boy band Leyenda. “I am happy to knock on this door again,” said the artist at his audition. (AND)
