She began painting when she settled in Madrid to rediscover herself, her origins, and her family. Without any pretension, beyond those personal needs. But the whims of fate have that air capable of causing unimaginable things. Tania Ciffer (Barcelona, 1989) picked up the brushes 10 years ago, although in his resume it seems like an eternity has passed. In that short time his works, pure light, calm and tranquility, have flown from their studio in Diego de León to the most important cities in Europe: London, Milan, Paris… And, also, to the most famous and busiest square in the world: Times Square. I never dreamed of that, she says excitedly.
My parents remember that before speaking I was already painting. My game was that, a paper and some colors, the artist points out to GRAN MADRID. My extracurricular activities have always been linked to the artistic branch: dance, theater, ceramics, oil…, he adds before recounting that his new life began when he ended up in the capital in search of job opportunities after studying Administration and Management. of Companies: I started painting to be closer to Galiciawhere I grew up, while working in parallel, as a marketing manager for Heineken.
At first, the people closest to me asked me for works, as a birthday present, for example. Friends, co-workers… I saw that I was starting to like what I was doing and I decided to open an Instagram account and see what happened, he says. What happened was an explosion. Her visibility multiplied, in a very short time dozens of art galleries contacted her, she began to exhibit inside and outside Spain -in the main capitals of Europe- and to receive orders from people who did not know her personally.
Five years ago, with his agenda marking more than a year of waiting list and his works traveling around the world, he decided to leave everything to dedicate himself completely to art. It’s what really makes me happy, he adds. And the most beautiful thing about my career is that all this has come without any pretensions. I have savored every opportunity, every commission, every exhibition. For me it has been a dream, says this self-taught artist.
Last year, in May, one of the galleries he had previously worked with in Milan, Mads, also based in New York, called him to tell him that one of his works, Shores, had been selected to be part of an exhibition. digital that was going to be exhibited on the screens in Times Square. When I traveled there years ago with my parents, I didn’t think that my works would be there, she says excitedly.
Orillas is a special work, and in great demand, inspired by the sensations he experienced in the summers on the Galician beaches with his family. It has many natural elements, such as shells. Because his art, abstract, always mixes natural elements, such as minerals, with painting. A union that represents the emotions that nature transmits, and especially, the sea and the Galician mountains.
I’m not much at explaining the background of my works, they all have a special meaning for me, but what I like is Let each person think about what it transmits to themWhat meaning does it have for her? And it’s curious because my clients say that my works are positive and give peace, tranquility, calm. And that’s what I feel, she says.
Their particular textures hang on the walls of homes throughout Spain, from Madrid to Barcelona through Valencia, Asturias, Galicia… And they have conquered to the model Helen Lindes, to the DJ Macarena Hoffmann, the architect Pablo Garca Pisa or the singer Mireia Bravo, among others. Although it is also having its successes abroad, it has clients in the US, United Kingdom, Norway, Italy, France, Portugal…
