Silya Nymoen (45) is a recent judge in TVNorge’s “Norske Talenter”, where she is looking for Norway’s best talent.
She herself has over 20 years of experience in the music industry, after she broke through as a 19-year-old with the band Multicyde.
Kept this a secret from her husband
– I could easily have been a “one hit wonder”, but the music triggered something inside me. I started writing songs myself, and that led to me getting a record deal in the US, says Nymoen.

Everything fell into place
Since then, Silya has shown herself to be a woman of many talents. She has had a music career, acted in theatre, was a presenter and won “Stjernekamp”. She has thrown herself into the opportunities that have arisen, and has been very successful.
– A challenging period
But in private life something was missing for a long time.
It was only when she met her husband Espen Leite (50) in 2014 that she began to feel that life was falling into place.

– It has taken a long time. For many years I was very rootless and restless, but with Espen I have found the balance. I no longer need to be out and about, she says.
Together with her husband, she has moved to Gjerdrum, which is rural to the north of Oslo.

Finding peace at home
The charming red top is known for its exuberant energy, and is a firework on stage. At home, however, she is much calmer.
Reveals unknown past
– Away from the city, I have chickens, a cat, a man, a garden… I can go outside and pick apples. Then I have to calm down, and that is very healthy. For me it’s a super mix. I feel calmer within myself, she says.
In the spring, she will come out with new music, and she can’t wait for others to hear what she has made.

– I’m looking forward to it, and I’m nervous, sweaty and scared. The new music is me in a slightly more mature version. Ideally, I would like to continue until I am 80 years old, so I try not to let myself be stressed either by time or what others might think of what I do, says Silya.

It is also one of the pieces of advice she likes to give to young stars.
– If you love what you do, and do it well, then you can keep going until you are 80 years old. Just use the time!
