The Italian national team has its eyes on Argentina. After Mario Retegui and Bruno Zapelli, the FIGC would have set its sights on another South American player with an Italian passport: Franco Watson. Second striker born in 2002, grandfather with Palermo origins, Watson plays in the Instituto Athletic Central of Cordoba; according to the Argentine media, the Federation would have the idea of calling him up for the Under 21 national team. A path therefore less sudden than that of Retegui, but Mancini wants to observe him closely and then decide whether to bring him to the Azzurri group; grew up at the Institute, where he has so far spent his entire career, Watson could soon be a new player for the Italian national team.
