“I am a friendly, very sympathetic girl who likes extreme feelings, art, horses. On the other hand, I have recently discovered that I know how to enjoy the moment, to switch off for that moment and not think about anything else. (..) My childhood was similar to many others. I also have an older brother with whom I have various adventures, also with omes. But, of course, the different thing is that I had different operations every now and then – for eyes, legs, first of all for my head. (..) There were nine of them in total,” says Elizabete.
Elizabeth encountered the “Angels over Latvia” campaign exactly ten years ago, when a complex and very important operation was performed in Germany with the support of donors. After that, Elizabeth could no longer walk on tiptoes. However, on a daily basis, she continues to maintain tremendous perseverance and work to move forward.
The “Angels over Latvia” team took the young woman to the Riga circus, where Elizabeth is visiting for the first time. The creative director of the circus, Mārtiņš Ķibers, takes her on an excursion, while the Riga Circus School has prepared a surprise for the girl in the form of a performance.
That’s not all. When Elizabate was 12 years old, the funds donated by the musician Gacho helped her with rehabilitation expenses. At that time, the girl wrote a letter of thanks to the artist, but did not send it. The “Angels over Latvia” team arranged for Elizabeth to meet Gacho and thank him face to face.
