Home in Rheinhessen
She was born in Fürfeld in Rhenish Hesse and went to school in Bad Kreuznach. After her studies she moved to Siegen and worked there as a radio reporter in the WDR-Studio Siegen. After that she lived in Berlin for a while and completed her traineeship at the “electronic media school” in Potsdam. After completing her traineeship, she worked for two years at radioeins from the RBB. After all those years away from Rhineland-Palatinate, she was drawn back to her home state. She has been working at the SWR studio in Koblenz since 2008 and lives with her family in the Westerwald.
Local politics, environment or festival reporting – some of her favorite topics
Kathrin Freisberg likes to report on local political issues from northern Rhineland-Palatinate and about people with special stories. They are also interested in topics related to sustainability, the environment and nature. She also likes to report about festivals in the region – as well as about animals.
Dog fan and likes to be out and about in his free time
Kathrin Freisberg loves dogs. She herself and her husband have adopted two poodle crossbreeds (at least they pretend to be poodles and try to disguise the likely terrier part in them) from Greece and Romania. In her free time, she likes to be out and about in the region with her entire family pack (husband, two foster children and two dogs). And she loves to go out to eat. Preferably Italian.
