A direct clash between Russia and NATO could escalate into a nuclear war, which would be a catastrophic scenario for everyone. Such a statement made on Telegram, Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.

Western experts, in his opinion, are constantly talking about a possible war between NATO and the Russian Federation.

“Foreigners are trying to introduce the thesis that Russia is ‘scaring the world with a nuclear conflict’ into the agenda,” Medvedev wrote.

He urged representatives of foreign countries to think about the possible consequences and drew attention to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

It should be noted that Medvedev’s threats appeared after news about Finland and Sweden joining NATO. The head of the Security Council has previously announced a response to these plans deployment of nuclear weapons and hypersonic missiles in the Kaliningrad region.

Similar thoughts he expressed March 26 in the context of the threat to the existence of human civilization.

“The targets of the nuclear weapons of NATO countries are objects on the territory of the Russian Federation, and our warheads are aimed at targets in Europe and the United States. Such is life. Therefore, one must always think about this and pursue a responsible policy,” Medvedev said.

The head of the Russian Security Council is sure that the transfer of weapons by NATO countries to Ukraine, the preparation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the use of Western equipment and other military exercises near the borders with Russia will increase the likelihood of an open conflict with NATO instead of “an ongoing war by agreement.”

“Such a conflict always has the risk of turning into a full-fledged nuclear war … You don’t have to lie to yourself and others. You need to think about the possible consequences of your actions,” he concluded.
