Medvedev threatened NATO countries with attacks

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has threatened attacks on NATO countries, writes the German edition “Spiegel”.

Armed forces and facilities in countries officially at war with Russia or allies of the enemy are legitimate targets for attacks, Medvedev, who is the deputy head of Russia’s Security Council, wrote on his Telegram channel.

“The leaders of NATO countries unanimously affirm that their countries and the entire alliance are not at war with Russia. But everyone understands that the situation is different,” said Medvedev.

According to him, in addition to the political leadership and the opponent’s armed forces and their technology, military and civilian infrastructure objects such as bridges and energy supplies are also legitimate targets of attacks. He made his remarks as Moscow’s military again crippled Ukraine’s energy supply with massive rocket attacks, Spiegel said.

Medvedev accused NATO of having long ago declared a “hybrid war” on Russia. The confidant of the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, represented by Spiegel, interpreted the large-scale arms supplies to Ukraine, against which Moscow has been waging its war of aggression since February, as an attack on Russia. Medvedev has already tried in the past to provoke with similar threats.
