The Deputy Chairman of the National Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, commented on his Telegram channel that the sanctions against Russia will be “eternal” or “until the collapse of the United States in the course of the inevitable new civil war.”

“Donald Trump has insulted the current administration and threatened to lift sanctions against Russia. Will he repeal them if elected? No, of course not,” wrote Dmitry Medvedev.

“For all his apparent ‘unsystematic’, Trump is ultimately a systemic character. Yes, he is an extravagant narcissist, but he is also a pragmatist. As a businessman, Trump understands that sanctions harm the dominance of the dollar in the world. But not so much as to organize a revolution in the USA and oppose the anti-Russian line of the notorious deep state, which is much stronger than any Trump,” he added.

“And what about Harris? No more surprises should be expected from her. She is inexperienced and, as her critics claim, just plain stupid. She will be prepared with beautiful meaningless speeches and boring correct answers to the questions that she will read from a teleprompter, laughing infectiously,” Medvedev said, recalling Vladimir Putin’s comment during his speech at the Eastern Economic Forum.

“Sanctions against the USSR were in force throughout the 20th century. They returned in the 21st century on an unprecedented scale. Therefore, for all of us, the sanctions are forever. Or rather – until the collapse of the USA in the course of the inevitable new civil war. After all, Hollywood makes movies about it for a reason,” adds Medvedev, Trud writes.
