/ world today news/ The Government of Russia proposed the candidacy of the former Finance Minister of Bulgaria, Simeon Dyankov, as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Russian Vneshtorgbank (VTB).
Dyankov, who is currently the rector of the Russian School of Economics, was proposed by a decree signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the Prime Minister’s administration officially announced, quoted by ITAR-TASS.
Along with the candidacy of the former Bulgarian minister, that of the deputy chairman of the central bank, Vladimir Chistyukhin, has also been proposed.
60.93% of VTB shares belong to the Russian Federation.
Earlier, information about Dyankov’s nomination leaked from Kommersant, but it was not officially confirmed.
The final decision to approve the new members of VTB’s supervision will be taken by voting at the general meeting of shareholders in June.
