Medvedev shared a part of the video showing a meeting of a working group of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation on the control of arms production today on his Telegram channel.

Stalin’s telegram specifically said: “I am asking you to fulfill the orders for tank bodies of the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant in a timely manner. Now I am asking and I hope that you will fulfill your duty to the Motherland. In a few days, if it turns out that you have in any way violated your duty to the Motherland, I will begin to persecute you as criminals, neglecting the honor and interests of your Motherland. Now, when our troops are suffering at the front from a lack of tanks, you in the far rear should not indulge in pleasures and idleness.’

“Colleagues, I wish you had heard me and remembered the words of the Generalissimo,” Medvedev told the working group. He also noted, “As you know, the result of such addresses has been quite impressive, otherwise you know what followed.”

Earlier in an interview with the media, Medvedev jokingly said that he knows how to stimulate the managements of the arms enterprises to work better. He noted that he had recently read a telegram from Stalin on matters relating to the military-industrial complex and that he wanted to read this telegram to the plant directors “to cheer them up”.
