Australian Open finalist Daniil Medvedev could make himself the new number two in the ATP ranking next week. Should the Russian reach the final at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, he will be the first player in the top two since Lleyton Hewitt 2005, who is not called Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer or Andy Murray. That will be possible next week because Nadal has canceled his appearance in Rotterdam due to back problems.
