Russian tennis player Daniils Medvedevs triumphed in London on Sunday ATP in the final tournament of the season or “ATP Finals”.
Medvedev ranked fourth in the final with 4-6, 7-6 (7: 2), 6-4, beating Dominik Tim, the planet’s third racket.
He has become the first tennis player to win three of the world’s leading tennis players in the final tournament – in the subgroup Novak Djokovic, in the semi-finals Rafael Nadal and in the final Tim.
Ernest Gulbis’ former training partner Tim lost in the title match of the ATP Finals for the second year in a row, because last year he recognized the superiority of the Greek Stefan Cicip in the final three sets.
On Sunday, at the age of 24, Medvedev won the most important title of his career so far. He has nine ATP titles in his account, of which two have won trophies this year – the ATP Finals and the Paris Masters 1000 trophies.
The Russian tennis player will leave the final tournament of the season undefeated, thus receiving a check for 1.56 million US dollars. The total prize pool – $ 5.7 million – and the winner’s prize are almost half as low as last year.
Medvedev lost all three games in this tournament last year
The ATP final tournament in London at the O2 Arena took place on a hard surface. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the tournament, which was first held in Tokyo in 1970.
Stun Smith won the laurels of victory in Tokyo 50 years ago.
This was the 12th time that the final tournament took place in London, but next year the competition is planned in Turin, Italy.
